Benefits of Massage Therapy

Relieves Stress

This is the first step in achieving a healthy lifestyle. Stress relief lowers your heart rate and blood pressure and relaxes your muscles.

Relieves Headaches

By focusing on the neck, shoulders, and head, massage triggers tension spots to release the pressure of headaches. This will decrease the regularity of the headaches in order to have relaxation.

Improves Circulation

Poor circulation can be very discomforting. Massage moves blood through congested areas causing a release in pressure for more and new blood to flow in those areas. This also helps lymph fluid to carry metabolic wastes away from muscles and internal orders which helps in lowering blood pressure and improving body functioning.

Relaxes Muscles

Tense muscles cause knots and pain in those areas. If they are not treated, it could spread the pain in a chain reaction to other areas of the body which can be very painful. Massage helps the body relax and relieves muscle tension and stiffness.

Reflexology

Swedish Massage Therapy

Swedish massage therapy uses long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. It can be very gentle and relaxing. If you've never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.

Massage Salts

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy massage is therapy with the addition of one or more scented plant oils called essential oils to address specific needs. Oils are relaxing, energizing, stress-reducing, balancing, etc. This is best for stress-related conditions or conditions with an emotional component.

Hot Stone Massage

Heated, smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. There may also be gentle pressure applied. The warmth is comforting. This is best for muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is designed for people who are involved in physical activity. This helps prevent and treat injury and enhances athletic performance. The strokes are generally faster than Swedish massage. This helps loosen muscles and increase flexibility.
